Mentoring

Someone in Your Corner, Just For You

At Soaring Together, each individual is entitled to receive personalized, respectful, and empowering assistance. Our NDIS Mentoring Service is based on one simple idea: You are not required to go through this process alone.

A mentor will be right beside you to support, listen to, and understand you, without judgment. They will provide you with an opportunity to grow and develop your confidence at your own pace, and help you through the challenges you face, rather than tell you what to do.

Mentoring gives you the tools to feel confident, grounded, and focused on your daily life, especially when you are feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unprepared for your future. As a trusted NDIS provider, we offer mentoring services that fit naturally within the context of your NDIS disability support plan and that work to achieve the greatest impact for you.

    What Mentoring Can Look Like

NDIS Mentoring is a one-on-one support service designed to help you build life skills, confidence, and independence. With the guidance of an experienced NDIS mentor, you receive encouragement, structure, and practical support to move forward at your own pace.

Mentoring focuses on capacity building rather than clinical treatment. It supports emotional well-being, social connection, decision-making, and everyday confidence. As part of our wider NDIS support services, mentoring helps you make the most of your plan and feel more in control of your life.

The role of the mentor is to work together with the person, instead of being in a position of power over them. A mentor will listen to you so that they can understand where you want to go, and how you want to get there.

    Someone Who Truly Understands You

At Soaring Together, Trust is the foundation of meaningful support for people living with disabilities, which is why mentoring begins through listening to each person’s needs. We will begin by understanding where you are in your life at present and where you want your future life to go.

Most people want to have the following:

    • A healthier daily routine
    • To manage their emotions more effectively
    • To improve their communication and social skills
    • Try new activities or experiences
    • Become more confident in unfamiliar or new social situations
    • Work on their personal, educational, or employment goals

The way your NDIS Mentor Support is developed and guided is through your needs. The goal for you and your NDIS Mentor is not to fill time, do something they want you to do, or keep up with other people’s speed to grow. Growing happens one small decision at a time, and you will get support every step of the way.

    What Mentoring Can Look Like

Everyone is different, and so should the mentoring process be; we strive to be as flexible and tailored as possible. All of the support that you receive through our program will revolve around your specific needs and goals.

    • Addressing challenges in a secure and supportive setting
    • Opportunities for exploration of passions, hobbies, and pathways for personal growth

      Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

NDIS mentoring programs provide individuals with a dedicated support worker who helps them better understand and use their NDIS plan. Mentoring also supports skill development to help individuals achieve their personal goals.

An NDIS mentor is an experienced individual who supports people with disabilities to build life skills, confidence, and independence. Mentors provide encouragement and practical support, helping individuals work toward their personal goals at their own pace.

The NDIS provides funding for a range of supports to help people with disabilities live more independently and stay connected to their community. This may include daily living assistance, capacity-building supports, therapeutic services, and personalised supports aligned with individual goals.

NDIS mentors are usually funded under Capacity Building Supports, with pricing guided by the NDIS Price Guide. Rates may vary depending on the type of support and individual plan, and we’re happy to help you understand what is covered.

The NDIS may fund tutoring if it is directly related to a person’s disability and supports skill development or independence. Tutoring may be included when it aligns with the participant’s NDIS goals.
